A: We do our best to accommodate requests to see your pet as soon as possible, but our mobile service is not designed for emergency veterinary care. If you have urgent concerns, we recommend seeking immediate veterinary care at a full service veterinary clinic that can perform same-day diagnostic testing, surgical treatments, as well as intensive hospitalization if indicated.
Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital is open 24/7, located at 2324 Centerville Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32308 (850-222-0123).
Capital Veterinary Specialists Urgent Care is open 8am-6pm Monday-Friday and 10am-6pm on Saturdays and Sundays, located at 1615 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308 (850-597-9764).
A scheduled appointment for a pet that is found to be severely ill after we have performed our evaluation may result in immediate referral to an emergency facility versus a quality of life discussion.
A: We bring all equipment and supplies to your home (or office), and work with your pet wherever they are the most comfortable. If requested and weather permitting, appointments may also be held outside to facilitate social distancing, allow your pet to be where they are most comfortable, keep your outdoor-only pet outdoors, etc.
A: The in-home exam and consultation for your pet‘s wellness visit is $150.
If we are examining more than one pet during a visit, the first pet‘s exam/consultation is $150, and each additional pet is $75.
Vaccines are generally $30-38 each, heartworm testing is $55, HWT + tick-borne disease testing is $70, FeLV/FIV testing is $55, fecal testing is $60, deworming is $25, and microchipping is $60.
When needing booster vaccinations (typically 2-4 weeks after the initial vaccine), there is a $75 trip charge in addition to the cost of vaccinations.
We carry all-in-one monthly heartworm/intestinal parasite/flea/tick preventatives, and these are priced based on your pet’s weight and the quantity desired.
These are the most common wellness/annual visit services, however, this is not an exhaustive list. If you have further questions regarding a specific service or a combination of services, please contact us!
For visits outside of the central Tallahassee area/Tallahassee city limits, there is an extended service area fee in addition to the in-home exam and consultation fee.

A: We recommend creating a peaceful, distraction-free space, enabling you to give your pet your undivided attention in their final moments. Some may wish to gather human and animal siblings/family to be a part of this goodbye. This can be a healthy way to start the grieving process. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to your pet’s end of life wishes- we strive to help carry out your vision of goodbye and aftercare seamlessly, whatever those wishes may be.
Some clients wish to pre-pay prior to their appointment, and this can also be helpful in staying distraction-free. If you wish to pre-pay, we can either send a Square Invoice via e-mail, or payment may be made to our business Venmo (@healinghands_tally). This is by no means required, and is solely personal preference, so payment can otherwise be made at the time of the appointment.
Our best advise is to try to soak up the time you have left with your pet. This may look different for everyone based on the severity of you or your pet’s health condition(s). Some examples include taking them to their favorite place (the beach, the park, in town, in the home), offering their favorite treats (or those that have previously been forbidden), having their favorite family members/friends pay them a visit, or having a day to spend mostly with your pet.
Please reach out if you have any special requests or wishes that we can help with, or if you have any further questions or concerns regarding end of life care for your pet.
